Sustainability

At Me + Lia, sustainability is woven into everything we do. From the very first thread to the final stitch, every decision is made with care.  This starts with care for the people who create our pieces, and for where our materials come from. We believe beautiful clothing should be made slowly, thoughtfully, and with respect for its origins.

Our garments begin with 100% sustainably grown cotton and linen.  All natural fibres chosen for their breathability, softness and gentle feel against the skin. These materials are not only kinder to the environment, but they also age beautifully, carrying a quiet sense of calm that we believe reflects a more mindful way of living.

We work closely with environmentally responsible suppliers and use all-natural dyes for our prints, significantly reducing water consumption compared to traditional screen-printing methods. Our digital printing partner is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, reflecting our commitment to high environmental standards and a lighter footprint at every stage of production.

Each Me + Lia piece is designed with intention and brought to life in small batches by skilled artisans in a family-run workshop in Indonesia. Here, garments are cut, stitched, folded, and finished by hand, guided by experience rather than speed. Natural light, simple tools, and a slower rhythm define the process.  A deliberate alternative to mass production.

By producing in limited quantities, we minimise waste and ensure every garment receives the attention it deserves. Nothing is rushed, nothing is overproduced, and nothing is made without purpose.

When you choose Me + Lia, you’re choosing more than clothing. You’re supporting ethical craftsmanship, traditional skills, and a quieter approach to fashion.  The one that values quality over excess, intention over urgency, and pieces made to be worn, loved, and lived in for years to come.
